The New East Cooper Regional Medical Center had their “topping out” ceremony on Friday morning. I had not been over to the new site in several months and could not believe the progress they had made! The last time I dropped by they were pouring concrete and there were big mountains of dirt everywhere you looked. Now there is a huge structure!
The ceremony was pretty incredible. Hospital staff and people in the community were invited to sign a beam that was then raised and put into place on top of the building. Attached to the beam there was a flag and tree!
After the ceremony, lunch was served and everyone was offered a tee-shirt.
I made a slideshow of the event. If you click the blue link below you can see it!
